With the weather cooling down to the mid-70s and beautiful sunny skies, we finally did some work in our yard this weekend. Casey planted a nice maple tree in our backyard, as well as some bushes by the driveway. Coulson and I planted about 30 daffodil bulbs in the front. We still have some crocuses and tulips still to plant. It felt good to be outside working in the yard without the oppressive heat. We actually met our next-door-neighbor for the first time (yeah, we've lived here for almost 3 months and she finally said hi!) Her 7-year-old son and his golden retriever have come over a couple time to briefly play with Coulson and Chester, respectively, but this was the first time I was able to speak with a grown-up of the house. I kinda figured that the summer heat kept people indoors and that our neighborhood would liven up once it cooled down and that seems to be the case.
Here are some pictures of Casey digging the hole for our tree and planting it. The boys were very interested in the digging part, as was Chester.
